Movies/Theater
Sandi diBari calabrezz@aol.com 510-656-1526
Cathy Bliss blisfulmom@aol.com 510-651-1661

So far, the group has attended Presentation’s production of “Beauty and the Beast”, the Presentation alumnae production of “The Melody Lingers On”, as well as the films The Holiday, The Queen, Diane Keaton’s new film, Because I Said So and a SCU play, “ A View From the Bridge.” Angela Schiavone (Pres Alumnae) and SCU cast gave outstanding performance!

The group also saw the movie The Namesake at Santana Row and thoroughly enjoyed the multicultural theme. Sandi will send information to all interested parties on the date, place, and time about one week before the next event.

During the month of July this group saw Evenings and Hairspray. What a GREAT way to see some "chick flicks" and beat the heat at the same time!

Crafts
Carol Schiavone aca678@sbcglobal.net 408-243-2619

The group met in November and made Thanksgiving cards and in January to make Valentines cards. Carol reports that everyone who comes seems to have a lot of fun and no experience is necessary. In February the group knitted either the old fashioned way, with two needles, or with this nifty device called the “Knifty Knitter.” Creative scarves are in progress.
In April the group will be making All Occasion Cards . Please check the calendar for more information or feel free to email Carol.

The group will be meeting on Thursday, July 26 to make Origami Scrapbooks.

Learn why the Italian people came to North Beach and how they lived when you take the North Beach Mangia Walking Tour led by Grace Anne Walden on Saturday, September 29, 10AM- 3:30PM.
The cost of the trip is $80.00 per person and will include about 8 blocks of walking. (Great exercise to help walk off the Italian cookies, sausage, focaccia, and fudge we will be sampling at the 100-year old bakery where we will stop!) The tour includes lunch at Washington Square Bar and Grill. This certainly promises to be a unique experience for all who attend!
