“Beauty and the Beast”, the Presentation alumnae production
of “The Melody Lingers On”, as well as the films The Holiday,
The Queen, Diane Keaton’s new film, Because I Said So and a
SCU play, “ A View From the Bridge.” Angela Schiavone
(Pres Alumnae) and SCU cast gave outstanding performance! During the month of July this group saw Evenings and Hairspray. What a GREAT way to see some "chick flicks" and beat the heat at the same time!
The group met in November and made Thanksgiving cards and in January
to make Valentines cards. Carol reports that everyone who comes seems
to have a lot of fun and no experience is necessary. In February the
group knitted either the old fashioned way, with two needles, or with
this nifty device called the “Knifty Knitter.” Creative
scarves are in progress. The group will be meeting on Thursday, July 26 to make Origami Scrapbooks.
The group is in the planning stages; Nonnie is hoping to organize an event for Spring – perhaps the San Francisco Garden Show or a trip to Filoli. Please contact Nonnie to join or with ideas for possible garden trips. The Allied Arts Outing has been rescheduled for later in the spring. Stay tuned for more details. An exciting trip to beautiful Hakone Gardens in Saratoga will take place on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00am. These gardens were featured in the film Memoirs of a Geisha . http://www.hakone.com
