not words but deeds

Life at Pres doesn’t unfold just inside classrooms – this week’s CI Faire and Club Day are devoted to service, learning and fun!

CI FaireOn Tuesday during collaboration period, the Community Involvement Faire will host off-campus organizations that are seeking student volunteers. We’ll begin with a general assembly – featuring a keynote speaker from Habitat for Humanity – and then students will have a chance to visit each organization individually. The Humane Society of Silicon Valley will be there, as will the City of San Jose. For more information on the CI Faire, e-mail Ms. Russo at erusso@pres-net.com.

Passionate about the environment? International cultures? Theater, science or politics? Then come to Club Day on Thursday during collaboration period to find out about these student organizations and more. Listen to brief presentations about each organization and find out about their plans for the year. After the assembly, students can get more information or sign up at individual club tables and sign up.  Don’t miss this important opportunity to get involved! For more information on Club Day, e-mail Mrs. Hernandez at ghernandez@pres-net.com

Olympic News

Congratulations to Presentation graduate, Aly Wagner (’98), whose USA women’s soccer team won Olympic gold!

The U.S. women beat Brazil 1-0 on Thursday night, thanks to Carli Lloyd’s goal in the sixth minute of overtime, giving the United States its third gold medal in four Olympics.

Wagner wasn’t the only former Panther carving out a place in Olympic history. Jennifer Joines ('00), a member of the Olympic Women's Volleyball team, won a silver medal on Saturday, August 23.
