About the Application Process
Presentation High School is committed to an economically diverse student body. We will do all we can to ensure that families who qualify for financial aid receive it. This year, approximately 20% of our student body are on scholarship and are recipients of over $1.4 million in aid. The per capita award is among the largest in the San Jose Diocese.
Your financial aid application packet will contain a form that you send directly to Private School Aid Service in Ohio. PSAS then determines your need based on your income tax form and other information. Presentation High School gives assistance based on the PSAS reports, and all scholarships are awarded solely on financial need.
The deadline for mailing the forms to PSAS is Feb. 4. The cost is $25 per family payable to PSAS. Forms received after Feb. 4 will go on a secondary consideration list. If your taxes are not complete by the deadline, you may send in the application with the previous year’s tax return and your current W-2s and as soon as your current taxes are complete, mail a copy directly to PSAS.
At the end of February, PSAS sends us a list of applicants. At that time we will begin to assess financial aid. Families who have met the deadlines and qualify will be awarded financial aid.
The PSAS form is for all Catholic schools, the Diocese and all children in the family. You must list all the schools that need the information on the same form. Because Presentation has an early deadline, you should make a copy of your PSAS form for the other schools and let them know you have already mailed the original form to PSAS. If you fill out the PSAS form from another school, be sure to also list Presentation High School. You must still meet the Feb. 4 deadline.
